Cute Valentine Idea

Check out this cute valentines ipod idea from Tara Freys typing out loud blog.

• Tape
• 2 (14 inch) pieces of string
• 2 Hershey kisses or mini peanut butter cups
• 1 box of conversation hearts (and we need 25 for our class!)
• Aluminum foil
• 4x7 inch strip of colored paper (we chose pink for the girls and blue for the boys)
• Glue stick
• download printable scroll wheel here  

Directions:

• Tape each end of a piece of string to a kiss or peanut butter cup.  Tie on the other piece of string, then tape the loose end to the candy box.
• Wrap each candy in a small circle of aluminum foil (to make the earphones)
• Wrap the pink paper strip around the candy box and secure it with a glue stick (or tape)
• Cut out the scroll wheel and playlist from the download above and use a glue stick to attach them to the box.
• Finish it off by having your little one write a valentine message on the back of the iPod.  Enjoy the "music" ! ~xo

My New Room

The almost finished bedroom. I painted the back wall a grey color. The paint is from Lowes, Valspar Bleached Shadow. Sophia is modeling her ballet outfit.  She is ready to join the Nutcracker!

I spray painted the furniture with Valspar satin black.

I used Pottery Barn handles on the nightstand to make it more modern.

The bed turned out better then I thought.  I love the black!

I need to go to IKEA to get some picture frames and floating shelves. I can't wait to put it all together. I have an awesome idea for the curtains.  I will update you in the next week or two.  My day was spent making Chicken Corn soup and painting.  All in all a very productive day. How was yours?

Coffee and Anthropologie

I love my new Keurig.  I got the single serve.  I'm lovin' all the sweet flavors.  I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and got Gloria Jean's Butter Toffee.  I want to find a peppermint flavored coffee.  I am an absolute peppermint girl.  Do you have a favorite flavor?

My Favorite Store!

Went to Anthropologie yesterday.  I went with the intention of buying the yellow bowls but.......found some other things I needed. Well I think I needed them.  To cute to resist. I was very excited to find the yellow bowls, they were $1.95.  What! You say..... Yes $1.95  How sweet is that!!!!!

This Citron Basil Candle smells wonderful.  Very fresh and invigorating.  You don't even need to burn it.  Just take the lid off and smell the aroma.......ahhhhhh!!!!  Found a metal L for my first name and a pretty handmade grey vase.  You can see I love yellow and grey.  I'm addicted!!!!! Whats your favorite thing at Anthropologie?  Don't you just love their displays?  I know I do!!!

Started My Soul Restoration

Took the time today to start my book for Soul Restoration.  Wow!! Really enjoy the time spent on my book and my thought and truths going into it.  I started to tear up thinking about the long journey I've been through these last six months and how I'm hoping to have my soul restored.  I think of how I've let my house be ripped apart.  I no longer want to have a cracked and crumbling house but one that has beautiful shutters with curtains blowing in the breeze.

Inspiration for Room

I am itching to redo my room!  I went to Lowes to get grey paint swatches.  Wow! What a hard decision.  Who knew picking out a grey would be so hard.  I want to paint the bed not sure if I want to paint it white or a silvery grey.  I absolutley love this Dweel Studio coverlet and pillows from Target. I'm so excited to get started.  Do you have a room done in grey, yellow and white?  These colors are modern but soothing.
